"Stories about us — cannot be told without us."
A fully digital film school supporting young Palestinian filmmakers in Gaza — enabling them to develop their own stories, shoot films with simple tools, and receive professional guidance from international mentors.
In Gaza, building a traditional film school is currently impossible. Movement is restricted, infrastructure is damaged, and a fixed location would be unreachable for most young people. But education cannot wait. Creativity cannot wait.
Gaza Film School is a fully digital platform — a school without walls that functions even when roads are blocked. It connects students across distance, bringing international film education directly to young people in Gaza.
Structured modules covering directing, screenwriting, cinematography, sound design and editing.
Real-time streaming classes with international mentors and filmmakers.
Curated library of films by Palestinian and international directors for study and inspiration.
A creative space for students to share work, give feedback and collaborate on projects.
Personal coaching and structured feedback on screenplays, rough cuts and final films.
Student films are published and celebrated in the public Gaza Film School showcase.
A fully online platform — no building required. Accessible from anywhere in Gaza.
Students develop full short film projects — from idea and screenplay to final cut.
Structured assignments track student growth through each module with mentor review.
A comprehensive two-year curriculum covering all aspects of filmmaking — directing, screenwriting, cinematography, sound design, and editing. Students develop their own short films under professional mentorship and receive an internationally recognized certificate.
Short, intensive workshops designed for young people with no prior film experience. Participants learn storytelling, camera work, and editing through hands-on exercises — making their first short film within days.
A dedicated program for educators who want to bring film education into their schools and communities in Gaza, using simple and accessible tools.

Born in 1962 in Gaza's Shati refugee camp, Rashid Masharawi is a pioneering Palestinian filmmaker whose work has shaped the international presence of Palestinian cinema. His films — including Curfew, Haifa, and Ticket to Jerusalem — have been screened at Cannes and major international festivals. With the Gaza Film School, he continues his lifelong commitment to nurturing the next generation of Palestinian filmmakers.
The first practical workshop of Gaza Film School. 10 selected participants from Gaza produce 10 documentary short films (5–10 min each) — a real training ground for the next generation of filmmakers, built on the legacy of "From Ground Zero."
