The first practical workshop released through Gaza Film School.
Good Morning Gaza is the first practical workshop of the Gaza Film School. The first cohort of 10 selected participants from Gaza has already been formed. Together, they will develop, shoot and edit short documentary films with the support of local coordinators and international mentors.
Good Morning Gaza marks the first practical workshop released through the Gaza Film School. It transforms the vision of the school into action. The project proves that film education in Gaza does not have to wait for a physical building.
Through the digital platform, the school can already begin to teach, mentor, connect and produce.
The first group of 10 participants from Gaza has already been selected. They form the first pilot class of the Gaza Film School. This first cohort is not only learning about cinema — they are creating cinema.
"Learning by making films.
Telling Gaza from within."
In Gaza, building and operating a traditional film school is currently extremely difficult. Movement is restricted, infrastructure is unstable, and a physical school building would not be accessible for many young people. But education cannot wait. Creativity cannot wait. Stories cannot wait.
Good Morning Gaza shows how the Gaza Film School uses digital tools to overcome these barriers. Online classes, mentoring sessions, project uploads, feedback rounds and local production support turn the platform into a real school without walls.
The School's Wider Principle
Breaking Walls stands for overcoming isolation, borders, lack of infrastructure and limited access to education. If international mentors cannot physically come to Gaza, the platform brings them online. If students cannot travel abroad to study film, the Gaza Film School brings film education to them.
Good Morning Gaza follows a simple principle: Learning by making films.
The participants will not only study theory. They will develop real film ideas, shoot real material, receive professional feedback and work toward finished short documentary films.
Each participant will explore a personal story from Gaza. These stories may speak about daily life, memory, family, loss, hope, creativity, survival, the sea, childhood, music, silence or the quiet moments that often remain unseen.
The workshop is not about showing Gaza through stereotypes. It is about giving young filmmakers the tools to tell Gaza from within — with their own images, their own voices and their own cinematic language.
The first cohort of Good Morning Gaza consists of 10 selected participants from Gaza. They are the first pilot class of the Gaza Film School.

The participants are introduced to the Gaza Film School, the digital platform and the goals of Good Morning Gaza. Each participant begins with a short personal film exercise: "My Morning in Gaza."
Participants develop their film ideas with the support of mentors. They work on loglines, short synopses, characters, locations and the emotional core of each story.
Participants learn how to tell stories through observation, images, interviews, sound and everyday details. They learn how to film with dignity and avoid stereotypes.
The workshop introduces practical tools for filming with available equipment, including phones or simple cameras. Participants learn about composition, light, sound, interviews and atmosphere.
Each project receives a clear plan: title, story idea, locations, protagonist, team, technical needs, shooting schedule and mentor feedback.
The participants shoot their films locally in Gaza. Local coordinators help with organization, technical support, communication and material transfer.
Participants upload their material, create first cuts and receive feedback from mentors. They improve structure, rhythm, sound, subtitles and the emotional clarity of their films.
The finished films or film miniatures are presented through the Gaza Film School platform. Selected works may later be shared with partners, festivals, supporters or public audiences.
The digital platform is the central learning space of Good Morning Gaza. It replaces the physical school building that is currently not possible in Gaza.
The platform allows the Gaza Film School to connect Gaza with international teachers, filmmakers and institutions. It makes education possible even when physical access is limited.
Filmmakers, directors, writers, cinematographers, editors, sound specialists and producers from different countries support the participants online.
Local coordinators help participants with practical needs during the workshop — bridging the digital platform with life on the ground.
